Most of them are gone now – droopy, dried up or shriveled. There are a couple left. I’m talking about the coral and gold roses on our table for Thanksgiving. Mixed with evergreens, they just looked so beautiful. I’m not a big fan of realistic rose paintings, but I definitely felt inspired to slap some paint down and enjoy capturing a little of their essence. It’s sort of combined with a good Thanksgiving day conversation I had about the nature of happiness.
