Portrait of an Unknown Woman

I have been studying the Russian Impressionists again and was so attracted to this face. Here is my attempted watercolor version of the oil portrait. Feshin’s portrayal is obviously a quick oil study,  painted loosely and rapidly. I wonder who she was and how long she posed?  To me, by the look on her face, she wasn’t interested in posing for a long time.   Feshin had to get about the business of capturing her quickly!  No name, but forever remembered….
