There were many beautiful scenes at our Seaside Art Journaling Retreat last weekend, but when one of the gals (thanks Dawn)  brought in this newly-washed-up crab shell one morning, it took my breath away.  I just couldn’t get over all the design, color and texture that God had packed into this one broken shell.  The little barnacles attached were like little birds, opening and closing inside their shells and so I knew it needed to be thrown back into the sea.  Somehow I felt obligated to record its beauty before being washed back into the ocean.
