Last week I checked out this location for one of our art journaling excursions next year. What a beautiful piece of history less than an hour away! One of the things that impressed me the most were all the visual contrasts. The stone, tiles and plaster all played against each other with different textures, and all with the beauty that only age brings (!). In this little watercolor I liked the contrast of the bright bougainvillaea (whew, had to look that one up) in front of the ancient stone.
