I VISITED A FRENCH FARMER’S MARKET THIS MORNING!
Yep – that’s right. I had my cup of coffee and then enjoyed strolling through the stalls and taking in all the luscious colors, textures and smells. I especially enjoyed watching a group of women shoppers who obviously knew each other and were busy exchanging tips on where the best deals were to be had.
So, maybe you’re on to me by now. I wasn’t REALLY in France, and even though I’m watching the Olympics currently taking place there right now, I’m still at my current address here in Santa Cruz, enjoying my garden and summer walks with my dog. I simply opened my art journal from our painting holiday last year. As I looked at the images, I was suddenly “there” again. All the sights, sounds and smells of the Cahors Farmer’s Market came rushing back to me.
Painting holidays bring together some of the happiest experiences – the joys of travel and seeing new places, the fun of journeying with other like-minded friends, and of course the delight of painting and sketching to capture one’s experiences with brush, paint and words.
Have you always dreamed of having a magical adventure like this!? Well, another trip to the south of France is coming up next May 2025. I mean really – Spring in the south of France? Be brave! Do something daring you haven’t done before! Consider joining us as we journey to the charming Le Vieux Couvent, a 17th century convent, creatively designed and outfitted for art retreats. It will be a trip of a lifetime I can promise you!
Check it out HERE – and dream a little!!
And just in case you might be worried about not being “talented enough” or “good enough” to paint in a journal (because a huge majority of people feel this way!), you can put those thoughts to rest. With demonstrations, tutorials and traceable templates, no one will lack the help and support needed to be successful!
And circling back to where I started, the wonderful thing is, even after the trip is over… your journal - filled with memories - will transport you back to all your adventures in a very personal way, vastly more powerful than simply scrolling through your phone photos.
So who knows? Maybe a year from now after your morning cup of coffee, you’ll be strolling down a flower bordered French village path – simply by opening your OWN journal!
