Freidrich Schiller (1759-1805) was a German playwright, philosopher and poet (to name just a few) - and new to me. I loved how he caught a little of the sentiment of why I love text so much. Just as he expressed, it gives body and voice to what otherwise would be lost in silence. And I love how he captured the idea of the “speaking page” carrying thoughts down through the ages. He had some other cool quotes as well: “Art is the daughter of freedom”. Hmmmm – I have to chew on that one for awhile. And another: “Grace is the beauty of form under the influence of freedom”. Hmmm – more chewing needed.
